What do you see in the Easter story? Do you see the risen Jesus who has died for your sins and risen from the dead to give you new life? Do you see grief of Mary that was turned to joy because Jesus is alive? Do you see Jesus as the teacher, the one who can show you how to truly live life? Do you see, or better yet, do you hear Jesus calling your name? Put yourself in John’s account of the Jesus’ resurrection and hear Jesus calling you into a new life with Him.
The Father sent Jesus to live and die and be raised from the dead to establish His church as the vehicle to rescue and restore people and ultimately all of creation. Jesus has sent us to carry on His mission by enjoying constant fellowship with the Father, Son, and Spirit, and intentionally pursuing His mission of renewal by making disciples who make disciples.
The greatest exchange offered in history is God’s offer to us to exchange our sin for Christ’s righteousness through the cross. It is a gift from God that we receive by trusting God’s grace. Embracing God’s grace helps us get off the performance treadmill and walk on the path of God’s grace.
