Today as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, we will look to the timelessly amazing paradox of the empty tomb. We know it’s glorious!!! We know it’s life-giving!!! But there’s more there we can say.

In part 1 of our Easter Sunday Sermon, we will start with the Last Supper section of Luke and as we lead into Good Friday and start thinking about why something so horrific is in fact good. In fact, Good Friday is so good that we can rejoice about what His death and spilt blood means for us.
King Jesus really did rise from the grave! We know that. We believe that. But we, by God’s sweet providence, have been given proof to support that belief. Our belief is never baseless. Nor is it devoid of fact and simply rooted in feelings. His resurrection is real! We know that in part because it’s…
As we celebrate Easter Sunday and the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, we look closer at Luke’s account of the Resurrection, the grave was not the last word. He Lives!!!
On this Easter Sunday we look at the 7 last words spoken during His last hours on the cross, specifically unpacking one little word “TETELESTAI” (Greek for It is Finished).
What do you see in the Easter story? Do you see the risen Jesus who has died for your sins and risen from the dead to give you new life? Do you see grief of Mary that was turned to joy because Jesus is alive? Do you see Jesus as the teacher, the one who can show you how to truly live life? Do you see, or better yet, do you hear Jesus calling your name? Put yourself in John’s account of the Jesus’ resurrection and hear Jesus calling you into a new life with Him.
This morning as we gather to celebrate the manner that Jesus rose from the dead we will consider some of our own feelings about death and the way Jesus helps us to overcome death.
