The church at Thyatira seems in many ways to be a solid church. But … they had made and were continuing to make a critical error, namely tolerating an immoral teacher that encouraged compromising on Kingdom truth. This could not continue. Nor can it continue in our own lives (individually or corporately). The words of King Jesus here in this text are helpful to know how to combat our common enemy, and they come back primarily to two key questions we must answer correctly.
God chooses to display his sovereign might through imperfect people like Moses. The Moses we find in Exodus 4 is much different than the one found in Exodus 2. He has been shaped by his time in the wilderness and his experience with God. In this we discover that the might of God almost always flows through obedience rooted in faith. God pulls Moses away from his selfdoubt and anxiety toward faithful obedience through which God will use Moses powerfully. God wants to use us. He asks us to stopping looking at ourselves and to look up toward Him.
We believe in taking faith-filled, big thinking risks. Our God is bigger and more powerful than we can dream. God calls us to trust Him even when the outcomes aren’t clear. We forge ahead in obedience and boldness.
This week we are discussing practices to identify if we are on the path to wisdom or the path to folly.

The Gospel quickly begins the advance from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth in Acts Chapter eight. Our text today shows us that all are qualified to receive Christ as savior, and that we need to be led in this work.
