This week as we get close to the end of the Book of Revelation we will focus on the “New Garden” (aka “Eden 2.0”), what we are meant to feel and do as we will be forever with the Father, face to face!
This week as we get close to the end of the Book of Revelation we will focus on the “New Garden” (aka “Eden 2.0”), what we are meant to feel and do as we will be forever with the Father, face to face!
In these closing verses of Revelation 11 we encounter what really seems to be a heavenly hymn. If such a thing strikes us as out of sorts in the midst of God’s wrath being poured out, then that may very well be the point. Should our focus be on the wrath or on Him? I believe it should be on Him, and it seems John agrees.
In this Sermon we will look at some new insight regarding how we are to conceive of and think about heaven. So much of the heavenly happenings thus far in the book of Revelation includes resounding praise and worship, but here we are introduced to some new elements and will focus on how we might learn from them.
This week as we look at the second part of chapter 5 the worship scene here centers on the Lamb. We will expound on what this worship of the Lamb is all about in heaven so that it can inform our worship here on earth. The Lamb is praised for both What He has accomplished as well as Who He is, and finally, brings in an aspect related to us that our worship ought to be all-inclusive, always making room for all.
This week we will look at what John shares about heaven. We see that Heaven is a place that emphasizes the fact that there is no ruler greater, or more powerful, or more holy or more glorious than God. His dominion over all things is unquestionably front and center. Heaven is a place of Doxology, God is glorious! There is a throne and the one sitting upon that throne is the One true God as they declare holy, holy, holy to the One who is worthy to receive all glory and honor and power. The One who was, who is, and who is to come.
Most people have at some point asked the question, what is heaven really like? Do we sit around on clouds playing harps? Is it so peaceful that it is eerily quiet? Is it like a church service that drags on for eternity? If we are honest, when we think about these questions what we are really trying to determine is whether or not we think heaven is boring. This week we are going to look at Scripture to see how the Bible describes eternity with God.
