Each year as the sun begins to go down a little bit earlier a funny thing happens in our neighborhoods. We begin seeing our neighbors spending Saturday afternoons stringing lights on their gutters and in their bushes. As the season progresses we start seeing trees with lights pop up in living rooms and we go to “light up night” festivals where businesses and cities follow this trend. By the time Christmas arrives the lights are everywhere. The build up of Christmas lights all around us is deeply appropriate. It calls us to remember that when Christ was born, he came to be light in a dark world. Join us this Christmas season as we celebrate this light.
